Since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic at the end of February 2020, Darryl, like other musicians in France and the world, was shut down from traveling and performing. He rediscovered writing and recording music at home with his bass, keyboard, virtual instruments and computer programming. He thus embarked on composing  a wide variety of music which embrasses his personal style within the African-American Diaspora.

Even though he has lived in France for fifteen years and discovered the sounds of Gabriel Fauré, Michel Legrand, George Brassens, and Juliette Greco for example, he has never lost his roots home grown feel, from the sounds of Philadelphia, Bluenote, Chess, Stax, Atlantic to Motown. His music represents a cross current of imagination, sounds, grooves, swing and culture.
